Glenn A Carlson, PE
Glenn started his civilian engineering career following graduation from Oklahoma State University in 1970 with a Master of Science degree in Water Resources Engineering following two years Active Duty service as a Corps of Engineers Officer with the US Army in Germany.
First job was with Exxon, USA as a Petroleum Production Engineer in the Lafayette, Louisiana Production District. After relocation to Houston he worked as a civil engineer consultant as senior project manager with several major engineering consulting firms in the Houston vicinity. Area of practice initially was in with drainage engineering and broadened to all facets of municipal engineering with expertise focused on transportation planning, design and construction management. Clients included all major cities and transportation agencies in southeast Texas.
Professional affiliations include Life Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and Fellow of the Society of American Military Engineers. Concurrent with professional engineering work, he served of President of his resident Municipal Utility District Board of Directors for 26 years.
As a result of participation with the local SAME and ASCE organizations, Glenn began participation with the Engineering Council of Houston in the early 1990s. Subsequently ECH activities .grew to include support and participation with the Science Engineering Fair of Houston (SEFH) including serving as a volunteer judge during the annual regional Fair.
Glenn serves currently as ECH Secretary after previously having served as ECH President.
